It’s a month to Christmas Day!!!I’m not ashamed to admit that I love Christmas and not at all for religious reasons! It’s the lights, parties, getting together with family and friends I haven’t seen for ages, the eating, the drinking!Oh and the presents! This Christmas I’m trying to buy Irish made gifts as much as possible. These are some of the fab local producers I’ve come across during the year.
1. Beefree Clothing
This is run by a lovely lady in Co. Meath and features brightly coloured, fleecy clothing-looks great and keeps little ones nice and toasty! There are ponchos, hoodies, pinafore dresses, hats and scarves galore. Each order comes with a free scarf and a handwritten thank you note. It’s the little things that make such a big difference and sets this retailer apart for me!
You can check all the lovely handmade stock out here at www.beefree.ie.
2. Green Angel Cosmetics
This is an all natural cosmetic company based in Dublin, which harnesses lots of good stuff from our surrounding ocean. I bought hand cream for my mum for her birthday and she is raving about it. They have lovely sets-for golfers and gardeners and can be found in the following pharmacies nationwide or through their Facebook page.
3. Curley Sew
This is run by a stay at home mum of 4, Kate. She sources the coolest material on the net and makes dungarees, dresses, pants and pjs featuring kids favourite cartoon characters.
She also caters to those of us reliving our past through our children’s choice of clothing (Carebears, Moomins, Jem & the Holograms, to name but a few that are featured!)
It’s a custom made service-you pick the fabric and design and she designs you a practically one of a kind creation for your little Mr or Miss.
You can check her out through her Facebook page.

4. Mika B Teething Jewellery
This is a fantastic idea-jewellery that looks fab yet functions perfectly
as teething aids for your little chompers. The jewellery is stylish yet practical and made from non toxic food grade silicon, which is easily washed. There are a plethora of bangles, pendants or necklaces in bright colours to choose from. Such a clever idea!
Check out the rest of the fab stock here http://www.mikabteethingjewellery.ie. There’s currently a 3 for 2 offer that runs until Nov 27th.
5. Pixy Natural
Another cosmetics company-mammies need their spoiling!-this time based in Mallow. I love their products-especially the Coconut Ice Shower Mousse and soothing body balm-great for pregnant bellies! They also have a fab range of gift sets for under a tenner! Their site is www.pixy.ie.

It will be a while before the girls are big enough for these
but I just love them as a gift idea- your child’s first hurley. Great site too! http://hurlog.com
