Trolley Seat Cover Review and Giveaway

One of the perks of being a blogger means that every now and again  you get the chance to try out new and exciting products. We got to try one such item last week from Irish company Brand Newbies.  Did you know that researchers from Arizona recently conducted a swab test of 85 trolleys and discovered that 72% of their surfaces tested positive for a marker for fecal matter? No me neither, and it doesn’t bear thinking about. I normally have wipes at hand to give a quick once over on trolley seats but what if you could eliminate the need for that step while also providing your child with a warm, dry and cosy seat while you shop?

Step forward then the Trolley Seat Cover from Brand Newbies, a flipping genius product that’s all style AND substance. It’s easy to install-full instructions are provided on the packaging and there is even a video on the website if you’re really stuck, which you shouldn’t be. When it’s installed, it covers the front and sides of the trolley completely, looking like a mini couch and our Mini Mini couldn’t wait to be seated in it. The cover is waterproof, germ resistant and crucially is machine washable as any good product aimed at the mini market should be!

Grabbing a snack in the comfort of her own little “couch”.

Once there, she was happy out and kept busy by some toys we put on the handy loops. There are also side pockets to keep drinks and snacks close by. This is great for keeping little ones entertained.

Handy loops keep toys close by (and not on the floor!!)

There’s also a buckle to strap babies in and keep them upright. Now it’s been a while since our dear darling daughter allowed us to strap her into anything (car seat excepted of course) so we didn’t get to test drive that particular feature but we do have Cookie Monster who has kindly offered to demonstrate it for us.

Perhaps the thing I like about the seat cover the most is the fact that it prevents Mini Mini from grabbing the chain that links to other trolleys. This is always grabbed at and promptly dumped into her mouth no matter how many ‘yukkies’ or ‘dirtiest’ I throw at her.I wish we had had one of these for her older sister. It would have been a lifesaver. All in all, it’s a really great and versatile product-you can also use it on high chairs and it doubles up as a changing mat! The website is clear and uncluttered and ordering through it couldn’t be simpler!

It definitely gets the mini seal of approval.

  1. That is brilliant! I hate shopping trolley seats and yet they’re a necessity, Harry is forever putting that horrible chain thingy in his mouth. Very nice of Cookie Monster to volunteer is services, he’s a fine model 🙂

  2. I would love one of these! My 10 month old always puts the chain that links straight to other trolleys in her mouth and would be so great to have her comfy in the trolley 🙂

  3. Wow this is brilliant. I always have it in the back of my mind as I put the kiddies in the trolley. Urgh on the faecal matter! Fingers crossed I win.
